An Comunn Collach - The Coll Association Informal get-togethers in Glasgow of Collachs who had moved from the island to the mainland were regularized in 1931 by the formation of An Comunn Collach - The Coll Association. The Association is still very active in fostering kinship and the sense of history, tradition and belonging for families and friends of Coll.
Hebridean History The Society of West Highland & Island Historical Research, based in Coll, aims to encourage research into the history of the West Highlands & Islands and make it available to the general public. The website has comprehensive lists of books and other publications on the history of the region. Members receive the Society's newsletter West Highland Notes & Queries, currently published three times per year, and are invited to contribute to it. Titles of articles in back issues of the newsletter are listed on the website.

Highland & Island Emigration Society The society assisted impoverished Scots families, some from Coll, Mull or Tiree, to emigrate to Australia. Almost 5,000 people were assisted in the years 1852-1857. This site describes the history of the society, and lists the names and other information about those assisted.
An Iodhlann Historical centre of the Isle of Tiree. Its reading room at Scarinish houses an extensive collection of documents, photographs, recordings, letters, maps, family trees, and other material relating to every aspect of island life. A must for visitors to the island. A large selection of items from its collection of documents, photographs and sound clips can be downloaded from the website.

Mull Genealogy Ian Phillips' website assisting family history research for those with ancestors from the Isle of Mull. There were close family links between Mull and the nearby islands of Tiree & Coll.
Isle of Muck Anne White's website deals with the history of the Isle of Muck (one of the Small Isles of the Inner Hebrides) and includes census records from 1841 to 1891. Recommended reading if you are planning to visit the island.
